
Mike Haimson has 20 years of experience as a design engineer, project engineer, systems architect, project manager, and product manager. His work includes projects in telecommunications, data networking, commercial and broadcast audio-video, amusement park design, high-end computer graphics, advanced media systems, interactive user interfaces, medical simulation for training, and robotics. Mike has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University where he built a walking and talking 4-legged robot in graduate school.
Mike started Carousel Interactive Technologies in 1995 to provide technology consulting services for the design and management of complex electronic and mechanical systems. Projects are of two main types: 1) large construction projects for universities, entertainment centers, amusement parks, museums, high-end shopping malls, corporate office parks, and extremely high-end residences; and 2) electronic and mechanical product development for the consumer and business markets. His clients have included Walt Disney, Sony, Intel, Electronic Arts, Stanford University Medical School and construction-related firms all over the world. He has worked on projects in the US, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Before starting Carousel Interactive Technologies, Mike was the Product Manager of Virtual Adventures, a multi-player, multi-vehicle virtual reality attraction at Iwerks Entertainment. Mike also worked in entertainment business development for Silicon Graphics’ Silicon Studio. Just after college, Mike spent 7 years at AT&T Bell Laboratories doing research and development for a variety of communication systems, video telephony, and consumer products.
